Well done to all the communities in County Clare who have completed their local biodiversity plans! We are proud to publish them on our website and hope they will inspire other communities to follow in their footsteps. These plans are a culmination of the Community Biodiversity Training which Clare Local Development Company contracted Burrenbeo Trust to undertake for 15 communities in Co. Clare. We adapted a community-led approach to the training so that communities could work together to create a biodiversity plan that was based on the principles and priorities of the people who lived locally. The biodiversity plans are truly theirs, written by their community, for their community. The proposed actions in these plans to protect and enhance nature and wildlife are exceptionally diverse which reflects the interests of the groups and the local needs or issues identified.
