In order to celebrate the annual arrival of the Burren’s world famous wildflowers Burrenbeo Trust organised the Burren in Bloom festival running from the 19th May to the 4th June, with 13 separate events over the first weekend. Although it is still running over the next few weeks we wanted to take this opportunity to thank the amazing support we have had from the community so far in running this event. For these 13 different events, community members and supporters gave up their time and space to deliver demonstrations, walks, talks, provided venues, teas, cakes, have opened up their gardens and more in order to raise funds for the Trust. It has been a roaring success so far raising over €4000 for the Trust. Although we don’t want to miss anyone out, we just would like to give a special shout to the below people for giving their time and venues:
- Sadie Chowen, Sarah Casey and the team at the Burren Perfumery
- Thomas Pakenham from Tullynally Castle
- Burren College of Art
- Martin Kiely from MK Burren Photography
- Terri and Alan Shoosmith from Rockvale Studio
- Stephen Ward
- Carl Wright from Caher Vally Garden
- Michael Longley
- David McGrath
- Mark Helmore from Mount Vernon House
- John Marrinan and family
- Patrick and Cheryl McCormack and family
- Tom and Nuala Lynch from Birdwatch Clare
- Shane Casey
- Cilian Roden
- Micheline Sheehy Skeffington
- Michael Keane and family
- Dilis Clare
A very large thank you goes out to the key volunteers who have been instrumental in coordinating the event, Richard and Linda Morrison.
