Landscape charity, Burrenbeo Trust, are seeking a suitable person to fill a post based in the Burrenbeo Trust offices in Kinvara, Co.Galway, for between 16-24 hours a week depending on skillset. The Burrenbeo Trust is a non-profit organisation striving for the future sustainable management of the Burren region through conservation, education, information provision, advocacy and research.
The Burrenbeo Trust Programmes Officer will work alongside the Education and Conservation Officers and will report to the Executive Committee on a monthly basis. This is a 7-month cover between 1st Oct – 1st May (maternity leave) with the possibility of a longer term opportunity thereafter. Possible Tasks of Post
- Support the coordination of all the Burrenbeo Trust programmes
- Support the other Officers’ work
- Write grants and raise funds on behalf of the Trust
- Coordinate specific events for the Trust
- Coordinate funding drawdowns and completion of funding reports
- Committee coordination
- Drive the overall PR for the organisation
- Outreach
Applicant for the job
Required:
- Must be highly efficient and organised
- A proven commitment to community conservation, heritage or a related field
- At least 2 years’ relevant work experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability in written and verbal communication
- Excellent working knowledge of all Office programmes
Desirable:
- A good working knowledge of the Burren
- Enthusiasm, dynamism and flexibility
- Capacity to work independently and/or as part of a team
- Ability to organise events
- Interest in communicating with and educating different audiences
