Join Colin Bunce to discover what the rocks of the Burren can tell us about how they were formed and what has happened to them since. Colin has a degree in geology and moved to the Burren in 1985. He has spent the last 30 years working in the Burren outdoor education centre in Bell Harbour as an activity instructor and field study tutor.
He is an avid caver and has found several new cave systems in the Burren. Ten years ago ago the discovery of Poll Gonzo near Carran revealed some new aspects of the local geology and has lead to the publication of 3 scientific reports.
The Wild Wednesday Webinars is a series webinars on the themes of farming, nature and heritage. Co-hosted by the Burrenbeo Trust and the Farming for Nature initiative, they will take place every Wednesday between 8 and 9pm, over the next few weeks. Each webinar will give us an opportunity to virtually meet and listen to a guest speaker as they talk about their ideas, experiences and lessons they have learned in their area of work. You can text in your questions to Colin during the webinar through the QnA button in your webinar window.
The Webinar is free to attend but you need to register for it using the above-mentioned link. On registration, you will be sent an email invitation to join the webinar and will be prompted to download the free Zoom app if you don’t have it already. Attending the webinar requires you to have the free Zoom app on your device (you can also download it at www.zoom.us).
