‘Cave excavations at Poulbaun: insights into life during the Bronze Age and medieval period’ – with Dr Marion Dowd
In 2021, a small cave was discovered at Poulbaun in the Burren uplands. Archaeological material was visible in the sediments which led to an archaeological excavation in 2022 on behalf of the National Monuments Service. Despite the small size of the cave, it had been used by various farming communities in the Burren over 4,000 years, from the Late Neolithic through the Bronze Age and into the High Medieval period. This talk, originally scheduled for last November was cancelled due to bad weather conditions and has now been rescheduled in February.
All welcome, suggested donation of 5 euros for the upkeep of the hall. Kettle will be on from 7:30pm and talk will start at 8pm at Tubber hall.
The talk is free and open to all with suggested donation of 5 euro for the upkeep of the hall.
Tubber Hall can be found on google maps here.
