Songs, Stories and the Burren
with Shane Casey, John Casey & Guests.
16th September 2016, 7.30pm
Meet at 7.30pm at Murroghtoohy layby (51 M 150 115).
Join us as we explore the Burren landscape in the twilight and get a new perspective on the area. Led by Shane Casey, the evening will include songs, stories, stargazing and an overview of nocturnal wildlife. Shane is a native to this area but is also the Biodiversity Officer for Dublin City Council. Shane and John are both very familiar with Blackhead, Fanore and the local songs, stories and nature.
The meeting point will be Murroghtoohy layby, Blackhead (51 M 150 115) at 7.30pm. The start point is marked on this map. Suitable shoes and clothing for walking required, as well as waterproofs, or warm clothes etc as necessary. While we will try to keep light to a minimum it may be worth bringing a small torch or head torch if you have one. Some of this walk is on broken pavement so a reasonable level of fitness is required. The walk is a free event but donations will be gratefully received.
