Burren Winterage Weekend 2020 events now available to view on YouTube

Our annual celebration of the ancient farming tradition of winterage took place virtually this year, featuring some fantastic local and international speakers with inspiring content. The Burren Winterage School  featured speakers from Austria, Slovenia, Colombia, Japan, South Africa, Greece, Finland, USA, UK and Ireland, sharing experiences of farming for nature and how farming can make a more positive contribution to addressing our global climate and biodiversity crises.

Evening keynote talks by well-known champions of nature-friendly farming such as James Rebanks, farmer and best-selling author of ‘The Shepherd’s Life’ and Patrick Holden, dairy farmer and founder of the Sustainable Food Trust in the UK, were fascinating and thought provoking.

Family events included a children’s book reading, an online art workshop on ‘Animals of the Burren’ and a family farming quiz. The virtual cattle drive with stunning visuals of cattle herding and conversations with Burren farmers was wonderfully educational.

A recording of all Burren Winterage online events is available on our YouTube channel under the playlist ‘Burren Winterage Weekend 2020’. For more information on the Burren Winterage Weekend, please visit www.burrenwinterage.com
