A massive congratulations to the farming for conservation Burren Programme who won the prestigious EU Green Award for the whole of Europe for their work in nature and biodiversity last night. There were 4300 projects in total to select from and they won!! This was the only Irish project that was shortlisted. Judges cited this project for its ‘phenomenal impact on a unique landscape…this Irish project pioneered a novel approach to farming and conservation’. We are so proud to be collaborators of this team and their superb work. Drs Brendan Dunford and Sharon Parr seen here accepting the award in Brussels on the 30th May. Well done to all those that have been involved in this project. Really outstanding work in preserving this landscape through innovative conservation.
