Free events as part of National Heritage Week
The nationwide Heritage Week, between the 19th-27th August, gives people the chance to learn more about the vastly important natural and cultural heritage there is throughout Ireland. There are hundreds of events happening for all age groups and the majority of them are FREE to attend!
As the Burren is such a special hotspot for heritage and the below events are being held by Burrenbeo Trust as part of this special week.
Wed 23rd (12noon-2pm) Newquay Burren Wild Child for Heritage Week
This free fun exploration of the rock pools of the Flaggy Shore near to Newquay with the Trust’s Education Coordinator, Áine Bird. For children between 4-12 years old. Bring your wellies, a sandcastle bucket (if you have one), picnic and a smile! Meeting place is the layby 1.5kms down down the flaggy shore beyond the beach carpark towards Linalla Icecream farm. Wed 23rd (2pm -3.30pm) Newquay Hedgerow Medicine
Free outing as part of National Heritage Week. This is a 2km walk with Trust Manager, Brigid Barry looking at foraging for health in our hedgerows, what common plants it holds and how these plants may be used in herbalism.
