‘Stone Forts and Ancient Stories’
With Michael Lynch
6th August, 2017
@2pm in the central Burren.
Exact location will be sent to members
Join us for our August Members’ walk with local archaeologist Michael Lynch. Michael is the Field Monument Adviser for Co. Clare and his research subjects include Prehistoric Archaeology and Church Plate. This walk will look at an amazing example of an ancient stone fort – allowing us to get an idea of what life was like for our ancestors who lived and worked there. Afterwards there will be the option to enjoy tea & scones in a local farmhouse for a suggested €5 donation.
Walk will start at 2pm in the central Burren and exact location details will be sent to all members of Burrenbeo Trust. To become a member of Burrenbeo Trust for as little as €3.33 a month visit www.burrenbeo.com. Please bring good walking shoes and waterproofs/sunhat or suncream if needed. While the focus of the walk will be on information sharing rather than covering large distances a reasonable level of fitness is required. For more information please email [email protected] or phone 091 638096.
