There has been great interest from local schools looking to participate in Áitbheo Junior in the 2017/2018 school year. Schools are asked to get the class that will be participating to submit a scholarship application outlining why they should be chosen to receive a scholarship.
The Áitbheo Junior programme has been developed based on years of experience delivering Ecobeo in primary schools and Áitbheo in secondary schools. The programme facilitates critical thinking and skills developments – leading students in discovery of the built, natural and cultural heritage of their local place. Students are also encouraged to consider their role in the conservation of their area.
While the job of deciding which schools have been awarded scholarships is going to be a tough one, we do really look forward to working with the successful schools in the next academic year. Schools have sent a mixture of letters, posters and essays, a number of which are included in the Gallery below.
