Connecting to our past through storytelling – A chat with singer, songwriter and author Declan O’Rourke
At the January Members’ Webinar we are looking forward to meeting one of Ireland’s best-loved singer-songwriters – Declan O’Rourke to chat about his experience of researching and writing his recently released debut novel, ‘The Pawnbroker’s Reward’. The book was inspired by O’Rourke’s award-winning 2017 album, Chronicles of the Great Irish Famine, which set eye-witness accounts of one of the darkest chapters in Irish history to song, including the story of Pádraig and Cáit ua Buachalla.
This talk is organised by Burrenbeo Trust – an independent landscape charity with no core funding. We work hard to sustain out 25 plus programmes throughout the year. Please do consider supporting us through donations or membership at www.burrenbeo.com
