Please come and help us keeping the Burren coastline clean, clearing plastic and other rubbish from our coastline and oceans. Don’t forget every piece of plastic removed from the coast means one less bit in the sea. This is a great event to bring the family to but please note that under 18’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Many hands are needed for maximum impact so bring friends/family/colleagues along too. We will be working along rough Burren coastline up to 1km from the parking so please come prepared.
Where: We will be meeting at a large parking layby at Ballyryan (Ballyreen) on the R477.
Directions: Drive south through Fanore heading down the coast on the R477. 6 ½ km after the Fanore shop and Post Office the road will turn sharply inland (east) and we are meeting in the layby just before the bend. Drive north from Lisdoonvarna on the R477. After about 6 ½ km from Lisdoonvarna the road will take a sharp bend to the right as it meets the coast. We are meeting in the layby just after the bend.
What to bring: You will need work gloves if you have them – we can lend you some if you don’t, sturdy footwear, warm waterproof clothing, your lunch, water to drink and a rucksack to carry it all in. Don’t forget the sun cream and hat if the sun is shining! Rubbish bags will be provided.
Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring a mug and (if you like) something to share at break time (a great way to test your baking skills and make new friends!!).
