This year’s Burren in Bloom festival with a special focus on our pollinators promises to be our biggest and best yet.
Come and witness Ireland’s finest repository of native plants, flowers and insects, at the height of their seasonal splendour, discover areas of the Burren rarely open to the public, and meet local farmers and Ireland’s best ecologists as they help us unlock Burren’s stunning beauty and intrigue.
For this year’s Burren in Bloom we are delighted to be collaborating with the National Biodiversity Data Centre and their All Ireland Pollinator Plan. There will be a special emphasis on how we can identify, enjoy and help our important pollinator species at a time when many of them are in crisis. Some of Ireland’s foremost botanists and entomologists will lead us in a series of walks, talks, workshops and exhibitions designed to inform and engage anyone with an interest in natural heritage. All in the company of local farm families who will introduce you to their farms, fields and folklore, a unique and deeply authentic experience. But we also want to hear what you have to say about pollinators and their protection, including what you can do to help them. There is something for everyone at the weekend. Most of the events are free and some require a modest fee with a discount for Burrenbeo Trust members. However pre-booking is essential for nearly all events.
