‘Following the Fergus’
with Francis Whelan
Sunday 1st April, 2018
@2pm in a South Burren Location
With the snow of March hopefully behind us we’re going for ‘take two’ on our walk with Francis Whelan. This walk will take us on a riverside exploration of a fascinating part of the Burren. The walk will include a number of very interesting heritage sites including a Moravian church and 16th Century fortified house. The walk will be led by Francis Whelan, a local farmer who has been strongly involved in the X-PO community mapping project.
Please note we are back to our summer schedule and the walks start time is 2pm. Suitable footwear is essential, and wellington or waterproof boots are recommended as is appropriate clothing for the weather, including waterproofs. No dogs allowed. While the focus of the walk will be on information sharing rather than covering large distances, a reasonable level of fitness is required. Start location will be sent to members in advance, sign up for membership on www.burrenbeo.com. For more information please email [email protected] or phone 091 638096.
