Burren Pub Grub
Visitors are often amazed to find such a density of pubs in even the smallest of Irish villages, and indeed the towns and villages of the Burren are no exception, hosting a formidable array of drinking establishments. Such competition allied with rising prices and a move towards home entertainment has seen many of these pub struggle in recent years, and one response to this has been the diversification of activity into the food sector.
These days, many pubs serve breakfast, lunch and in some cases dinner. Prices are usually very competitive and even many local people enjoy the comfort and ambience of the ‘local’ for their lunch. Service is usually very quick, though in some cases the menu is limited to 4-5 options – meat, chicken and fish usually featuring prominently
Within this section you will find a listing of some of the pubs in the Burren which also serve food. This is designed to offer you some options during your visit to the region, but does not offer any guarantee of quality or service. If you care to let us know what you thought of your visit to any of the listed establishments we can pass your comments along so that the quality is maintained or enhanced. Also, please mention burrenbeo when visiting, so that we can improve the quality and extent of the service we can offer the Burren visitor.
