Burren Visitor Info Pubs
Within the Burren region, as with most parts of Ireland, there is an enormous range of ‘Public houses’ or pubs to choose from. During the week these pubs stay open until around midnight, during the weekends an hour or two later. Children are allowed in until 9pm, and lunch is served in a good few pubs – evening meals are sometimes served in the larger establishments. Smoking is not allowed in pubs.
Pubs come in all shapes and sizes, from dreary old drinking halls to elaborate ‘super pubs’ with giant TV screens and loud music. Some are frequented by friendly locals anxious for a chat, others exude a less welcoming atmosphere.
